I began to learn japanese 2 years ago. I understand the main sense of some sentences. ^.^ Japanese and Chinese ideograms are quite the same, except that in Japanese there's symbols that represent syllables instead of a word. cheers asian languages are so fascinating!

Arigatou! Razz This name is really meaningfull for me.

I didn't know there was so many persons on WR that would like to learn Japanese!! Maybe I'm not the best Japanese speaker, but I still know many things in Japanese Smile If you guys are interrested, I can give Japanese lessons in University section Wink I would be pleased to do this for you.

There's the best wedsite I found:

http://www.kanji-master.com/
(I found out that site was really interresting, well made, fun and really complete. It's made to learn kanjis. There's many interrestinf things on that site. Really good tool)

http://www.realkana.com/
(You have difficulties to lear kanas (hiragana/katakana) ? That's site is really well made and you can test your habilities Wink If you don't know which one between hiragana and katakana you should star with, I'll tell you hiragana because they're more usefull to write basis sentences. You can use hiragana alone in a text and it would be ok. But you can't write a text only in katakana)

http://www.learnjapanesefree.com/
(Interresting website with much informations on Japanese grammar. Very useful to write sentences without mistakes Razz Razz Razz)

And also, you can download a Japanese text editor freely Razz I found one very usefull. Just search on google by taping "JWPce" Wink Really really interresting program. You'll like it Very Happy

Not exactly. Lilith is supposed to be the first real wife of Adam, but because she had a strong character and was equal to men, she wasn't according with "good women criterias" of church. She's considered as a demon. For me, Lilith is the symbol of women equality.

yeah ^.^ you'd better begin with kanas, but don't wait until you'll know them all to check other things. You can begin to learn grammar and vocabulary so you can write those words. Wink Don't be affraid to check around. For the grammatical part, if you have a problem, I'll answer the best as I can.

So, to resume: yeah, you can begin with kana learning, but also check others things, it will help you. Wink

i think the best advice to give right now is how to pronounce stuff. its really easy. Most of the words are broken into continents vowel sets and you pronounce them individually. For example, the most important for travelers to know is sumemasen which means pardon me or excuse me. the way you say it is SU ME MA SEN. this goes for just about all words but there are some that this doesnt work for. another example is this aoi which means blue is pronounced A O I and sounds like this A OH EE
