dear comrades of the german community of the world republic. im thinking about making a cartoon about this song
The ballade of the Crippled Guard

ive been unable to find the lyrics, its impossible. but i think i understand about 50% and most of the stuff. but it could be a great help if you could write what they sing, in both german and english.
thank you so far. if there is anything els you want to help me with (animating etc) feel free to post, i love to work together with people. thanks again.

i'll try:

Wir seh'n die Krüppelgarde,

We see the cripple-guard,

die schönste Garde der Welt!

the most beautiful guard in the world!

Wir zählen fast eine Milliarde,

Our number is close to a billion,

wenn man die Toten mitzählt.

if you count the dead in.

Die Toten können nicht mitgehen,

The dead can´t go with us,

die müssen im Grabe sein.

they have to stay in the grave.

Und wir können nicht im Schritt gehen,

And we can´t move at walking pace,

die Mehrzahl hat nur ein Bein.

most of us only have one leg.

Choir:
Unser Leutnant kommt von den Toten

Our lieutenant comes from the dead,

unser Hauptmann hat einen Stumpf

our captain has a stump.

One guy:
Unser feldmarschall kriecht am Boden,

Our field marshall is crawling on the ground,

und ist nur noch ein Rumpf.

and is only a torso.

Choir:
Unser Feldmarschall kriecht am Boden,

Our field marshall is crawling on the ground,

und ist nur noch ein Rumpf.

and is only a torso.

Normal:

We see the guard of the cripples and every second man,

schnallt man solide Knüppel direkt an die Knochen an.

gets a solid club strapped on his bones.

Sie sagen: Es sind die Prothesen,

They say: The artifical limbs,

viel schöner als Arm und Bein!

are prettier than arms and legs!

They say: The blinds can read with their fingers,

noch mal so fein.

much better than with eyes.

Und könnten die toten genesen,

And if the dead could recuperate,

sie brächten auch Sie noch ins Grab,

they would even take them to the grave,

statt hoffnungslos zu Verwesen in einem Massengrab.

instead of decaying hopelessly in a mass grave.

They said: Now get back to work and don´t laze.

They said: The wrong limbs do their duty on the assembly line as well.

Wartet ab während wir auch hinken

Just wait even if we limp,

gegen euch werden wir stramm marschieren.

against you we will march firmly.

What do we care, if we lose our other leg as well.

What do we care, if we lose our other leg as well.

We see the cripple-guard, the heart of the battalion,

the first line of the revolution.

@tyrlop: u r right. wir sind = we are...

but in the second part "das erste der bataillon" it could be "stärkste" or "erste"

would be "strongest" or "first"

my fault, sry^^"
