I was wondering. Some say it was the first democracy that worked properly. And all that.

I think it was cool of the revolutionairies to put the finger to the English king George III. I mean he taxed the fuck out of them and he didnt invest much in the colonies.

And the colonies didnt had a voice in the British parliament. So the British could easly tax them.(Taxing without represention its called I think).

So that are some good things, but there must be some down things about it. ...

This thread was elicited by a conversation i had with Liche in the chatbox. I plan to explain the revolutionary events and actions of the labour movement and their significance in relation to communism, the capitalist argumentation against communism, and our history of heirarchical, exploitative society (Including the alleged inherency of coercive heirarchy in a human society -- a point which this period of history addresses directly).

I encourage everyone to read this, ask questions, ...

Workers' Russia was not greeted by a revolution in Germany, by warm arms and offers of fraternal assistance. Instead, it was greeted by the invasion of 17 armies from 14 countries. Alone, isolated, encircled, revolutionary Russia undertook the heroic task of defending itself.

On 18 February 1918 the German army declared itself at war with revolutionary Russia. In under two weeks German troops marched 125 miles into Russia, arming White troops, and sweeping ...

Firstly, no the Soviet Union was not a success in 2 ways.

- It did not follow Lenin's model.

The Soviet Union was a great place, my whole family admits that but it was a horrid experiment in Socialism. I have attempted to fix its problems in my own "ideology", here are a few of its problems.

- workplaces would undermine labour capacity to get a lower quota.

- THERE WAS NO MARKET ASPECT.

Has anyone here read this book? It's quite good. It's written by an economist who used to do contracts for the International Monetary fund. If you haven't read it, I highly suggest it. It reveals the inner workings and motives behind U.S. foreign policy.

You can download the audio-book here:

(sorry, it's compressed in .zip format)

Or buy the book here:
