In order to know wether Russians would have voted for Putinor not you can simply walk around Russia and see how well liked putin is. When I worked in USA I saw many of the Russian girls that came in the work and travel program sending kisses to photos of Putin whereve they were and shouting "I love you!".

Talking with the average Russian will unveil a general approval of Putin's regime.

yup and the presidents term is now 6 yeas so when mijlnkujhbkhv staps down he can be president for 12 years instead of 8

Russians are brainwashed by the local propoganda and think that Putin's regime will return Russia its former power. But even if most of them would vote against him, that would change nothing.
