Does this quote change anyone's opinion of Einstein?

I knew Einstein was a socialist. Unless I'm mistaken this quote is from his essay "Why Socialism?".

You are correct sir.

Also I am going to find a way to incorporate this into my math project that I am doing on Einstein

Because the right wing insists that no with a shred of intelligence could ever be a socialist or communist.

I have read something else that Einstein said and it was socialist too!

Thanks for this one!

Could someone post the Essay "Why socialism?" in a thread in the People's Library?

That's a good quote.

This remembers me when Truman told Einstein that the Soviets would never be able to develop de atomic bomb because "they didn't have as much GDP as USA". Einstein replied that USSR had workforce, scientists and resources and that it was all they needed to develop the atomic bomb.

And that's it, one of the principles of socialism and communism:
All you need to develop is workforce, resources and technical knowledge, the rest is organization.

Many do. Probably a broad majority.

Let me remind you this quote I hate: "If you're not communist by the age of 15 you have no heart, but if you're after you're 25 you have no mind." Many, many rightists and some "desilutioned" socialists will tell this to communist/socialist youths.

*physicist, economist

So what? To understand economy you don't need to have a PhD on it, all you need is to have a good comprehensive capability and logical way of thinking. Einstein, a brilliant man, had these. He was able to understand that nowhere in the productive process money was involved and that's important to real economics.

Last time I checke Einstein was said to have an IQ of 210.

I personally don't agree with measuring intelligence by IQ. For an instance, receptiveness, the speed at which we process information, memory, etc. Are well influded by: mood, health, ammount of energy available and concentration. Another thing that infludes to make things be understood are personal experiences, knowledge, maturity and objective judgement.

So, to make an "Inteligence test" you have to do it in "optimal conditions", it has to be done at different ages, and general knowledge questions should be omited as a parameter to measure intelligence unless the answer is broadly developed as a paraphrasis (and not a literal copy from a dictionary or encyclopedia, for example) or admited to be unknown.

dude I just said iq and general knowleged aren't real smarts most pepole are only really good at one thing and einstine is no exeption.

The value estimated for Einstein was between 160 and 180. But this rough estimation can not count as Einstein’s IQ!

While we humans can specialize in somethng, according to our intelligence, access to knowledge, physical conditions, animic stage, tec. we can understand a lot of phenomena that is not within the spehere of our specialization.

In the case of Einstein, being an outstanding physicist doesn't mean he's just able to understand that. He was a brilliant person and was able to understand many other things, among them, how economy works. Economy is far simpler than physics so if you understand physics and master them, economy is just a simple concept. Besides evrything material is reigned by physics and mathematics so if you understand well those basic science/arts you can understand the ramifications.

Well, as I said, I don't pay much attention to IQ values.

the only reson you think phisics are hard is becuse you don't understand them. the reson I posted the link is to disprove thet he had 210iq like you said.
