| It was the epitome of what a United front Protest SHOULD be
it was hundreds of people uniting for the same cause and DISCUSSING POLITICS.
I actually stopped for a bit and realized that everyone there was engaged in discussion. It was nice. We had a decent amount of speakers. I won some obama supporters over and talked to a lot of the youth and go them interested in checking out our marxist class series.
We had several Union speakers and we had between 400-500 organization endorsements worldwide. Then afterwards the people that were still interested walked over and had dinner and talked for an hour or so.
The day went perfectly...
Now we can only hope the Union members and reps that came will take Mumia's case in and encourage them to take it to the next level.
OH
AND my comrades invited me to go to the LA protest next week...ROADTRIP

No, tell us. By the way, did you really gain supporters just from a protest? I didn't know that was possible, especially Obama supporters cause they're so obsessed with him like a deity or something.

| yeah actually. Our rally came directly after an obama rally. It was an odd coincidence.
I got like 4 phone numbers and one of my class mates (who was a Hillary fan) agreed to start studying with us and doing work for mumia.
Pretty much everyone who came bout some of our marxist journals, books, or Workers vanguard, and a lot of people got subscriptions.
Now at the same time, the worshipers of Obama prolly don't even know about Mumia...So it was a combo of the Mumia fighters and the people that were vague supporters.
SO In Philadelphia Obama was campaigning and the SL/SYC there raised up a FREE MUMIA banner. The organizers of the rally tried to get us to take it down because Obama didn't support Mumia's case (in actuality, obama AND hillary SUPPORT the death penalty) and we said we will leave it up unless it's the police asking us to. They didn't call the police but they tried to Cover up the banner with an Obama banner and it cause like a mini protest to leave our banner alone. Mostly the youthful people at the rally got upset and started shouting to leave it alone.
NJNP-You KNOW that we are the ONLY ones still doing stuff about his case right? |

the fake socialist groups have signed onto OUR program
thats OUR slogan and considering that we are the ONLY people still doing stuff on his case, they have endorsed our protest because they have to now.
Before that everyone else was rallying behind the NEW TRIAL slogan.
These same groups that have decided to join our united front program refused to actually show up because we criticized their new trial slogan.
Now i am not trying to make it seem like we own it, but we have been the only group that has drawn that distinct line of protest... |

for example
Jeff Mackler is the leader of the MOB-the mobilization to free mumia
and Mackler said that Mumia should be free within a year if he gets a new trial...so when the same courts that framed him up denied his request for a new trial...he said he was surprised
and because WE criticized him for doing that he refused to participate in our united front protest and said
A) united-front protests alienate people and they dont want to talk politics
and
B)We would make their group look bad...ITS A FUCKING FREE MUMIA GROUP
anyway...since we are the only ones that are still defending him
they endorsed but did not attend |

Well, now i did. And screw the cops, they can't do shit. If i've learned anything from my time at anarchist protests and marches, it's that the cops are just a bunch of panty-waists when you stare them down and don't give in to idle threats.
And ya, i know the ICL is the only group actually active. I had one of its members send me a copy of a petition that was written up, and i got about two hundred signatures. I almost got decked because i accidentily asked a skin-head. I didn't think he was a skin-head, i thought he was just bald, haha.

atleast we won people over to the fight for black liberation
atleast we exposed people to struggle...
Not a gain by any stretch of the imagination compared to Mumia's death (there will be blood) but...it's all the capitalists have left us with... |
