I'm not sure. His opposition to the Soviet State-Capitalist Bureaucracy is admirable, but he undermined Gorbachev's attempts to reform the Soviet Union and keep infrastructure intact. He was also a terrible president, and under him Russia suffered a chaos not seen since the civil war of 1917-1922.

I wouldn't send him to the Gulag. But he is by no means a good leader.
