| They make good music, some music are good, some not, I admit that some make people do violence, but hey some of the rapper had a awful youth and shit so I dont blame them from doing rappin' like that. Stop perpetuating stereotypes. If you don't like that style of music, then that's your personal taste. But hip-hop, if anything, has had a positive influence, spreading a general message, giving minorities a channel to voice a dissident opinion to that of the mass media (hugely biased when it comes to matters that concern the state and the wealthy minority).
I'd say, listen to more KRS-One, and less T-Payne; commercial rap is some of the worst music in the world. But conscious rap has soul, it speaks the truth, and if you can connect with it on a level deeper than just normal music, it can be a way to connect with others (i'm sure this is true of other music).
