Basic Latin

Just because there is basic Spanish (THIS IS NOT FINISHED, EXPECT REVISIONS)

u and v sound the like u, but the letters are used interchangeably.

c always sounds like k.

g sounds like the g in game.

Normally, the verb is at the end of the sentence. Latin has nominative, accusative, and ablative forms.

Verbs are a bit tricky. Here's the basic chart: (First column is singular, second is plural)

1st person (I am/we are): sum sumus
2nd person (you are/you are [plural]): es estis
3rd person (is/are): est sunt

OR:

-a/e/i/o/u -amus/emus/imus/omus/umus
-as/es/is/os/us -atis/etis/itis/otis/utis
-at/et/it/ot/ut -ant/ent/int/ont/unt

Now here's for the verb cantare (Infinitive for singing)

canta cantamus
cantas cantatis
cantat cantant

For the past imperfect (Task started but not finished), add -ba

cantaba cantabamus
cantabas cantabatis
cantabat cantabant

For the past perfect (Task finished), add -vi/ui/xi/vi (1/2/3/4 conjugation)

-vi/ui/xi/vi -vimus/uimus/ximus/vimus
-visti/uisti/xisti/visti -vistis/uistis/xistis/vistis
-vit/uit/xit/vit -verunt/uerunt/xerunt/verunt

Example:
cantavi cantavimus
cantavisti cantavistis
cantavit cantaverunt

Basic words:

(All Nominative nouns)

salve- hello
est - is
non - not
villa - house
pater - father
mater - mother
filius - son
servus - slave
puer - boy
puella - girl
coquus - cook
canis - dog
ancilla - slave girl

my sister took latin in 3rd grade but she only took it during 3rd and 4th to get enughf grades.

My brother took Latin.....said it was the most boreing class he's taken in his life.

Latin and Greek are basic to understand lots of terms used in diverse sciences since lots of those words are based on greco-latin ethymologies. I would recomend you not to disregard latin so much.

My school only taught German, Spanish, and French. I took German becuase that is were my family is from and my girlfriends parents are from Germany.

My school gives English,French and Latin and once they gave the reallyt smart kids Chinese to for 1 year.
