Who do you think should be the next US president.

I personally don't like any of the main stream candidates this election except maybe John Edwards (Democratic Party) and we barely ever here about third parties.

So maybe we should be a Constitutional Anarchy! Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

The lunatic party in Britain had a similar slogan of "Vote for insanity, you know it makes sense."
Anyway, I supported Dennis Kucinich but he was forced out of the election by fascists and Edwards has dropped out now, so I guess Obama is the best choice now.

the problem with American politics is that they only have to parties, and both of them are right wing compared to European standards

Yeah Europeans here have a good point. Democrats and republicans are not quite different between each other. They have to follow the same politics but with different focus. Both are right wing, just democrats are a little bit more moderate and are more hypocrite.

Yes but there is no third or independent party in the U.S. the the power and capacity to challenge the other two parties. Since the Democrats i think are center or center-right, they're better to elect than the Republicans who have a large ultra-right wing of which our current president is a member.

That two political parties can not accurately represent the entire population of the U.S.

One of the problem with these """"democracies""""" is taht they give for granted that all US people are right wingers. Another is that these two parties are not very different, so people just follow the one who speaks nicer. I read that one man who traditionally voted for Democrats voted for Bush because "He's a protector of the Christian values like me"... that's a good example..

I'd say people like that make up about 49% percent of our voting population but the difference between the two parties is that one has a strong ultra-right bloc that strongly influences the actions of the party and the other doesn't.

So basically the "radicalism" is the difference.

I would use the term "extremism", but basically yes.

Russ Feingold would have been the fucking man. I was devastated when he said he wouldn't run.

The same goes for Ted Kennedy.

Dennis Kucinich is great, but unelectable, unfortunately.

Obama's already got it clinched, though. I read The Audacity of Hope, and I like the guy. I just hope he doesn't choose Hillary for his VP. The aforementioned three would be great running mates, as would Jack Murtha or Tom Daschle.

Although, in my heart of hearts, I'd want him to choose either Bernie Sanders or Barney Frank. But the idea of the United States voting in either a Socialist Jewish man or a gay Jewish man to the office of Vice President is incredibly far-reaching.
