Did N-Vietnam win the war?

Some ppl say that the USA troops retreated and stuff and that nobody winned the war but when the Amricans left, S-Vietnam was just left alone with almost nothing. Letting the Viet-Cong easly take over the counrty.

So what do you think did N-Vietnam win the war or nobody winned?

The US withdrawal was mainly to do with the heavy domestic pressure from political activists back in America. A famous moment after the war was when a US Colonel met with a Vietnamese General,

"You know, you never defeated us on the battlefield".

The reply was "That may be so . . . but it is also irrelevant".

This. The NVA did not win the war for them. Lack of support did. *cough Iraq

We never should have been there in the first place. S Vietnam came to us and wanted us to help them get rid of an oppressive regime that was occupying them. Of course we are all about freedom so we said yes....oh wait a minute the ones who asked us for help wanted to put a communist system in after they free themselves so instead we joined the side that they wanted to be free from. USA was on the wrong side of that one. Even if you don't like the system of communism, you don't attack the people that ask you for help. You could have just said no.

2/If US would have stayed and had support, most likely they would have won. (Considering their massive bombings did hurt)

USA did promise to go back in if the north invaded again but the Watergate thing kept that from happenening. We were too busy trying to get rid of our president.

Those deaths? Heh, it's happening AGAIN in Iraq too. More and more soldiers are commiting suicide because of the government throwing them away like peices of trash.

In fact, I think, ever since Vietnam War, the facist US government has deliberately ignored the soldiers and controlled the media to suit their protrayal of bullshit dogma.
