On which grounds can you say that "we were not evolved to eat it" (disregarding that said statement is ambigous as hell) - enviro wrote:
we evoled form monkees, whose diet is mostly fruits, so we should have a body not made to handle as much meat. False premise. Plus gorillas, for example, do eat meat. - enviro wrote:
i am not saying we shouldent You're constatly implying it. - enviro wrote:
and i didnt say that all foods had the same quantity You suggested we could substitute meat with other sources a statement against which I presented an arguement.

| Don't get me wrong. Life is life, so meat is wrong. But I like it too much. Talk to me when a cow becomes sentient.
And as Zeal said. Hell, Gorillas have been known to resort to cannibalism in tough times. We can easilly digest meat, and it doesn't help that most vegetarians are missing a LOT of body mass due to lack of protien. Yo CAN get it from beans, but again, more from meat.

Life is life and in the food chain some are producers, others are 1st degree consumers and others are 2nd degree consumers, we're second degree consumers. Since I, like everyone here (hopefully) have great respect for life the reason for which I'm completely against wasting any single part of the animal killed (or exploited) to suffice our needs, not only dietary. And I'm of course against unnecesary killings and those that are made with excess pain. But, we to consume animals. - Tyrong Kojy wrote:

Worthy addition to the point.

As I understand he's basically saying that our addiction to sweet tasting foods proves we're meant to eat plants...

| But it doesn't. That, I think protien but I'm likely wrong, in meat is itelf sweet tasting because it converts to sugar in our mouth. So if wanting sweet things means anything, it means we're CANIVORES. | |

| We like sweet stuff because they bring carbohydrates which we use to produce energy, that's why we like them. How is that linked to consuming or not meat? | |

That remembers me an anecdote: One day I was going to put some meat to my recently-acquired grill. It was a delicious 350g cut, I don't remember its name in English though. Anyway, I usually prepare those cuts by grinding a tablespoon of salt and then spraying a fraction of it over both sides of the meat and leave it marinating for a couple of hours. That day I had to rush somewhere so I asked my mom to do that. What a mistake from my part. I went to that place where I stayed nearly 1 hour and a half. When I came back I saw the meat, supposedly, ready to cook. I grilled it. While grilling it a little bit of salt started emerging from the tissue and got burnt producing orange stains on the grill. I didn't give it much importance though. And then I served. When I took the first bite I felt like if my tongue shrank; it was too damn salty. I finished it because I wouldn't waste such a fine cut but also made my mother have some as a punishment for her spoiling of the meat. I was a bit hungry still so I grilled myself a burger. My tongue was so affected by how salty the previous cut of meat was that the meat of the hamburger tasted as sweet as sugar... Yeah, meat tends to be sweet!
