I'm curious to see what people here will think of this.

The general idea about why they wear the costumes etc., as I've come to understand it, is that it catches people's attention and directs them to their cause.

Some Links:

Link1
(The name of that website is a funny coincidence.)

Link2

Link3

EDIT: Embedding disabled? Oh well.

The first words that come to mind are delusional, egocentric, authoritarian, and possibly child-abuse (against them when they were kids).

Watched that video of "Dark Guardian". Did he just straight-up lie about the audio and video of that guy sellin? If so he just went up to a random black man and accused him selling. Either way i kinda wanted to see that dealer smack him up a bit. And what kind of 'super-hero' doesn't know his streets and directions? "We're in the corner of the park with all the benches"... come on

I don't even want to ask.

Black_Cross wrote:

Now, how on earth would we possibly know that? They've been patrolling around that park long enough to have gotten audio and video. That isn't to assume that they actually have, I'm just saying that, to my knowledge, they've had ample time to have genuinely gotten it.

Black_Cross wrote:

So he didn't take the time to walk over to the street and he see. That's hardly worth pointing out.

I don't remember hearing that anyone had to memorize every last street name in their area, either.

Black_Cross wrote:

I have a serious problem with that.

The 'either way' part.

The only problem I had with that video was that he began his description of the man by stating that he was black. Twice. But even that I don't think is that big a deal.

And, please, there's no need to turn this into some kind of debate. I was just annoyed that you'd attack something you know so little about and not explain yourself even slightly.

I think Im more on BCs side on this one. I dont agree with either of them beating each other up, I really wouldn't be surprised if this guy was racist, and it wouldn't phase me if there was no actual Audio Clip.

Why dont these guys just become cops? Or start a Non Profit Charity organization, become paramedics, or fuck, why not join the military, that way you can "Liberate" people. Well, I guess Id rather have them run around in costumes than drop bombs on innocent civilians. But seriously, my point is, why cant they do something more constructive?

Aside from what I already put on my first post about the costumes (As opposed to a police uniform, in this case), for a more vague answer,
here's an excerpt from the Link3 thing:

When relaying what their ultimate goal is, Dark Guardian gets even more animated.” We’re gonna fight back. I’m going to train more heroes up and we’re going to reclaim the park. We’re not better than the cops but…” Z interrupts “We can do things that people caught up in the red tape can’t.”

Liche wrote:

Is there another term for an organization that hands out water, blankets, etc. to the homeless for free?

Liche wrote:
become paramedics

I doubt many of them are qualified to do that.

You've answered your own question.

Liche wrote:

Did you watch that youtube video at all?

There's one called Direction Man, even, in New York, who just takes time out of his day to give people directions. Nothing more.

Rhetorical; i don't care either way.

Why? It certainly shows a lack of dedication and/or preparation.

... I never claimed they had to, but generally when you live in an area for an extended period of time, you learn the streets. Regardless, this guy is playing dress-up as a hero; you'd think he'd be 1) prepared to go vigilante or 2) ready to give the police the proper information in an efficient manner.

The 'either way' part.

Sorry, i don't like racists.

I'm not forcing you to debate me, i don't want to debate about something like this, and i don't think there's any need to do so.

You asked for opinions; i gave you my opinion.

^^^ No. 'Either way' as in whether or not the guy was selling drugs. I believe that was the context in which i said that.

Since apparently you two dont speak the same language, I'll translate.

BC is saying, he wanted to see the black man in the park punch the "Masked Avenger" whether or not he was wrongfully accused or actually a drug dealer.

Mighty Observer is trying to confirm this is what you meant.

Which you did, but he doesn't speak the Black Crossian dialogue of English.

I understand full and well what he meant. I wanted to make it known what I originally thought that he meant, and we would be done with this conversation.

What I don't understand is why he just said this, when as far as I was concerned there was nothing left to discuss:

Black_Cross wrote:

The only thing on that first post I hadn't gotten a satisfactory explanation for was the 'either way'. Then I got it, I told him what I thought he meant, and it should have been over. And then this? What am I supposed to make of this?

What isn't important to what you were saying? Not important to what you were saying when? You've explained your opinions, so we're done talking about it.

Black Cross was just saying whether or not he was innocent, your saying whether or not the tapes existed.

The "hero" could have known the man was guilty, but couldnt prove how he knew this (maybe because in the past he bought drugs from him, which would be the easiest assumption) so he said he had audio and video of it, what you said was much more assuming than what BC said.

Ex: Jesus died for our in vain, as compared to Jesus died for our salvation. The main point being Jesus was inocent, yet put to death, leading one to assume he died for us.(sorry, had trouble thinking of an example, and this one makes sense to me).

Must you run the obvious into the ground?

Liche wrote:

It's now time for a long, drawn out DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUHHHHHHHHHHHH.

Liche wrote:

Mm hm. Yup. You're still talking.

Liche wrote:

Yes, an example was necessary. I'm so stupid that not only did I not understand all of this already, but that you needed to repeat it multiple times and then give an example. Bravo.

Now, what I said above in response to this was harsh, but I'm just pi-... upset... that we're even still discussing this. Liche, you think that I don't understand what BC was saying. I explained to you in my previous post that that was not the case, and that the conversation was over. While I appreciate what you're trying to do, this experience is rather maddening.

BC gave his opinion, and I was upset that he did not explain his opinions, and I made this apparent to him. He then explained his opinion on everything. I was satisfied with his answers except for his explanation of the 'either way'. What he meant was that he would have liked to see Dark Gaurdian 'smacked him up a bit' by the man whether he was a dealer or not. What I momentarily thought he meant was that he would have liked to see Dark Gaurdian 'smacked up a bit' whether he had gotten the audio and video or not.

He explained what he actually meant, and I was satisfied. All that was left for me to do was to explain what I thought he meant, so that my reasoning would be understood, and so I did. That should have been the end of the conversation.

Then BC, apparently not understanding, said "Not really important to what I was talking about."

Then you, obviously not understanding, began to try to explain to me what had just been made abundantly clear. I explained to you what I am now explaining to you, again. But you don't understand my Mighty Observian dialogue of English, do you?

You didn't get it, and continued to try to explain a matter that had long ago been satisfactorily settled. So, here I am, explaining again that you have nothing to explain to me.

I appreciate the sentiment, but this has been really annoying. I'm sorry this has consumed so much of our time; all three of us.

Sorry, its more me being bored than anything else Razz

I decided to give an indetph analysis of what BC had to say. The second time I said it, was when CoolKidX jumped in, I was explaining it to him. The third time (this one) I was expressing the difference between your response, and what BC originally said.

Im sorry if it came off on you in a bad way, my apologies. I also understand how frustrating it can be when people arent seeing something the way you do, and you have to try and tell them why you think what you do, but its all a matter of perspective. BC has a more pessimistic look at this, assuming their all sadists, while your looking optimistically at them as people who generally want to help society.

Im more on BCs side simply because Im a fairly pessimistic person, I see them as trying to gain fame.

(Im not trying to give you another explaintion, I just felt like I had offended you and wanted to clear things up)

Wow, talk about convoluted.

MightyObserver wrote:

I understood quite well. Nothing about that quote of mine should have evoked a response. I was pointing out how ticky-tacky that particular conversation was (about 'either way' or 'if so').

So how 'bout we stop explaining what should be quite obvious and stay on topic.
