| Ya, we spoke of this some on myspace (I made a new myspace account I'll add you on there) and I didn't tell anyone because I didn't want to impose on Zachs personal information, and decided I'd let you decide whether or not to tell, since you guys were so close I was gonna see if you were gonna say anything.
But I've talked to Zach and picked up he had anger problems. I also noticed he mostly talked about riots and protests, rather than how to actually achieve Communism. I honestly was shocked, but not really that surprised. He's pretty much screwed himself over. Last time I spoke with him, I asked if he was still an Anarchist, he replied "No man, Im union all the way!". I figured he meant he just wasn't going to choose one thing to label himself, but I now see he what he meant. After I said "Cool, so your still socialist" he said "Ugh, got to go" then blocked me.

Zach wants to belong to something and be different... i sometimes wonder if he ever truly believed in what he was saying... the least i can say is if it weren't for him i would never have been a socialist and now its almost like watching my mentor turn away from what he taught me

| ^^^ Agreed.
I hadn't heard this, and i'll have to talk to Zach as well. If this is true, it's a sad day.
Nice to have you back Alek. How did you find out about this? I thought you two weren't on speaking terms.

| While we might not agree with his choice it is kind of low to post someones personal information without consent of that person. I don't agree with what he has done but he feels that he had no other choice to do this. When you have no money and no job and times are looking desperate people do things that they might not support. He knows now that he will have a place to sleep, food to eat, money in the bank, and money for college. In this situation it seems like its better to be encouraging that it will not always be this way than to make someone feel like the lowest of lows. I told him "dont do anything that you will regret," and he said he wont and wants to be an on base firer fighter. I know he will be in an imperialist military but he wont be doing dirty work for the government if he chooses that route. |

you dont have the full story at all... he really doesnt have to join the military, he is a better financial position than i am. all i posted was his name which you all know already and might i add that he and i had planned to protest in front of the military recruiters who visit our school not 6 months ago. As far as him being a base firefighter, i was under the impression he planned on being a tanker.

| Evidently I'm somewhat late here.
I just talked to Zach yesterday, although I had learnt about him joining the military from CKX almost a week ago. In fact it's been this event that has made me come back. I had been searching for slander reported to me by Zach but I didn't find stuff relating to this topic until now.
I do agree with Mono, although I think it's a bit more complex than that in the case of Zach.
Either way and as much as I hate that he's, at least seemingly, departed from our struggle his decision is to be respected. Whatever his reasons might be, they're valid.
I heard he had been called "hypocrite" by some. To those:
Joining the army doesn't make him a hypocrite. He's got an "easy way out of the toil" by joining the army and we all definitely need a way to substain ourselves economically. What better way to achieve it than by doing something as simple as joining the army in an imperialist nation? It helps you keep fit, gives you a steady financial base, the possibility to travel around the world and may provide you with quite interesting and valuable experiences.
The only way he could be a hypocrite is by pointing his gun while on duty at his comrades. And in all honesty I don't believe he'd do something like that.
Either way, I just wanted to put my unnecesary grain of salt here. This is a topic we shouldn't be really talking about.
I won't tolerate slander against Zach.

| I don't really have a problem with him joining the military. Im just upset that hes left us (at least for now). I figure he'll realize he had it right when he was an Anarcho-Communist and come back to the Revolution. Besides, him being in the army might help the revolution, maybe he'll educate some of his Comrades there . I guess Im just upset over the situation, and Id like to speak to him personally but Im pretty sure he's blocked me on Facebook, AIM, and Myspace. | |

Okay, so if you see soldiers in a army of Western country as "easy surviving", then you shouldn't say "Fuck the troops" or anything, and I don't know if you said that once, but one time you were like "Fuck the army" to 10/17 cuz his brother was coming from Iraq.
