And that would be... what, exactly? Many respect Mexico, thanks to it's beaches and sights, as well as culture. most who disrespect, are refering to the general elvel of poverty as well as drug issues and lack of law. But last I checked, America had these same issues, it's simply not as talked about.

Americans are arrogant, as tends to happen with most Empires in history once they get so large, really are generally uneducated, as more than 50% of you are creationists, and are the fattest country out there. Many of your laws are archaic, especially for a developed nation, and your economy in shambles now, while the rest of the world recovers. I'm so happy you guys have the internet, but no, a high level of intelligence is most certainly NOT required to use it, or do you not actually surf the web. I admit to giving America props where it's due. Technologically they're great, if not one of the best. However, it helps them when they bring in scientists from other countries, so one can wonder if that's even America's victory....

Not Dhorpatan.... damnit why him? He's lost all my respect. I may plan to own him anti-objectivism style (objectivism in the quasireligious sense). I've got a couple of former objectivist friends and they've given me some nice arguements against Objectivists like Dhorpatan specialy as to why Objectivists that do follow the tenets of objectivism can't hate, for example, communism or even selfless actions.

A lot if not most of USA's technological development is due to "brain leaks" in other nations or based on other nations' researches.

For example guys like Nikola Tesla, Sikorski, Fermi, Einstein, Bohr, Von Braun (man does the American space program and missile devlopment owe a lot to this guy), etc. were not from America and all were crucial for several technological developments within USA.

The whole basis for Stealth technology comes from a Soviet theoretician that developed it in the 60's. Soviet planes often had smaller RCSs than American ones, plus most were made with slight radiowave-absorbing materials. Had it not been for USSR's collapse, the first 5th generation fighter would have definitely been developed in the USSR. To develop the F-117, the B2 and the F-22 USA scientists did use the soviet theoretical basis for stealth.

Also, for the development of the JSF (the joint strike fighter), Boeing cooperated with the Yakovlev design bureau which in the 80's developed the first supersonic VSTOL fighter, the Yak-141, the basis of which partially served to develop the JSF.

Plus USA universities have shitloads of foreign teachers the methods, experiences and knowledge of which certainly contributed to develop science within USA.
