I'm currently reading Maksim Kalashnikov's "Вперёд, в СССР-2". He's indeed an interesting writer. For Alex and any other Russian-language speaker, the relevance of this author and this particular writting to this topic should be obvious. For those of you who don't speak Russian the title of that book is "Forward, to USSR 2".
This guy makes very interesting asessments of USSR's potential often advocating for the resurrection of USSR, the continuation of many projects that were ground to a halt thanks to Gorbie and the subsequent leaders of Russia and, quite importantly, acknoweldges the many undeniable achievements of USSR and the possitive impact of many of its characteristics that it had to the Soviet population and how losing said characteristics was just for the detriment of the post-Soviet pouplations.
For us Sovietophiles. Eastern Bloc nostalgists, Russian patriots and anyone who is interested in better understanding these postures, this guy is certainly a must read. Also, like me, he insults through his writtings guys like Yeltsin and the whole bunch of Soviet bureuacrats.
As for the song, it's basically a song of which text is nostalgy fopr the USSR and the chorus says "Wanting badly to go (back) to the USSR".
