| The purpose of capitalism, a free competitive market - is always deemed to fail, because the whole point of the competitiveness is always abolished as certain few become more successful and establish monopolies on markets. For example, a few select car companies now have quite a monopoly on the car market, owning most of the products being traded and so this whole idea of a market economy - competitiveness to produce the best products, fails as a select few of companies own the majority of the market and so there is not much competitiveness needed to compete with each other, as long as they own a majority of the markets which is the case. Nowadays, it is hard to start businesses that become successful because so much product is already supplied by a few select companies that have established monopolies in the markets, so there is really almost no chance of becoming successful, and as a consumer, you can't expect the best products because these companies don't need to compete that much with each other. Just the fact alone that companies begin to own large sections of certain industries abolishes this whole idea of having equal chances and and starting other companies to compete.
Sorry I don't have much time to write this, hope you kinda get what I'm saying; I'll hopefully justify and revise what I mean later. | |

| Said it before, saying it again. Capitalism can work if done proplerly, and preventing monopolies is part of that. | |

| For Communism to work everyone has to be fair and get along. Once we get to the point where every ones fair and gets along, we wouldn't need Capitalism. It would be like in startrek, we would be mature enough not to need a market economy, things would be able to get done with out competition. Instead of fighting each other we'd be fighting the klingon, and we'd eventually ally with the klingon and start fighting the Borg. And probably we'd eventually even stop fighting the Borg, and one day we'll all peacefully coexist. Assuming people get off there asses and stop believing Coexistance is impossible. | |

| You can't make peace with the Borg, you moron. They literally don't want it. They want to assimilate. The only thing you can do is kick their asses until they give up for a few centuries until they're advanced enough to try again. And that's assuming they never manage to steal your advanced tech from small civilian craft. I was thinking more along the lines of us getting assimilated by the Borg. They are far superior. They are communism in its purist form. | |

| It makes me sad that the only living thread on the whole forum is about startrek (or has drifted into a conversation on startrek). No offense to Startrek of course. | |

| Nobody has anything else to talk about. Start up a thread. About something new, not "same old, same old", which this one kinda falls into. | |
