PostSubject: Labor theory of value   Tue Apr 15, 2008 2:15 am

The labor theory of value is a theory originating in bourgeois economics, but elaborated on by Marx. Bourgeois economists think supply and demand determine price, but Marx was the first to realize that the real determiner is the value of the labor. Labor and Nature are the sources of all value.

Discuss.

I think a better way to summarize the Law of Value would be to say that the value of a commodity is determined by the amount of time socially necessary to produce it.

That is true but also the value of a commodity is also its price. This is important to know because that is what the tendency of the rate of profit to fall is based on.

it is linked if it takes time then ther will be less of it and thus supply is smaller and that's why it is expensive it's the same therory just diffrent parts.

Evidence shows that the labor theory is more accurate at predicting prices.

Das Capital.

The Law of Value is very well thought out and results from very complex and highly developed political economic theories, don't think you can disprove it with your poor conception economics.

For example, some argue that value in the sense of the amount of labor embodied in a good acts as a center of gravity for price. As counter-intuitive as this may seem to those accustomed to neoclassical price theory, some empirical evidence suggests labor values are a better predictor of empirically recorded prices than prediction by any other means.[9]

labor value is based on the amount of labor at the disposal to the bourgeoisie.

the theroy that the earth was round and that the earth was the middle of the univers were very well developed.

dude you need to learn basic economics, now.

supply is low but demand is high.
now this leads to pize increas becuse the seller pulls up his prizes or the buyer bid higer in the end demand will fall becuse the product will be too expensive and then it stabalizes.

VERY SIMPLE

ok now supply, marxes part.
marx argues that if it takes more labour wich we can call "time"
it obviusly will not come in as gr8 numbers and that is low supply often low supply also means low demand but if not the prize is high.
marx did not write this.

anothre thing.
computer, very easy and cheap to make but VERY hard to develop so that means more work goes into the computer and the seller is forced to keep prizes high.

we are talking about the same thing so just drop it.

P.S. again marx wasn't the first one.

It will become false if we do something to stop it.

It will become true if we do nothing.

It is a theory. LIke evolution or gravity. Their truth is not dependent on anyone's actions. Neoliberal economics is false no matter what.

What the helll this is so retarded. Its like gravity. Intelligent design is false even if we do nothing to "stop it" and will not become true if we do nothing. Neoliberal economics says that free market capitalism creates the most value and is eternally sustainable. Marxian economics says this is wrong. Since you said you know the laws then you will already know why.
