Can God destroy himself ?

If he is all powerful he must be able too -
If he is all prevailing he cannot be destroyed -

Is he all powerful or everlasting ?

An old argument. I asked that when I was younger and Christian. It took me a while to figure out why I was slapped. Still don't understand why I was slapped, but....

It is theoretical - can something that is 'everlasting' and 'all powerful' destroy itself ?

heh, this is like the whole 'if god is all-powerful, can he make something so large, even he can't lift it' argument. I guess the answer is... why the hell would god destroy himself? If he's all powerful, he could destroy himself... i suppose, but this is not to say he can't be everlasting. He still (in this hypothetical) exists, and until he ceases to exist, can he not be everlasting?

He could, but he has no reason to. If he calls himself everlasting, he now has a reason to last forever, and since he's the only all-powerful being, he can allow himself to last forever. If he did have a reason to destroy himself, he would not have called himself everlasting.

I was. And i still hold that there is too much demarcation between socialists. Only now i've accepted that a socialist transition is not practicle, and denied its ability to form a communist society.
