| I don't think one should learn a language just to read a certain book but because he really likes or needs to learn that language. | |

| I love German. I didn't like learning it in a high-school classroom though, some people don't have the mind to pick up a language so the class went very slowly. It is sort of how some people are good with numbers, born that way, but language is much more abstract.
I like all nordic region languages. I would love to learn Finnish and Norwegian. Or just about anything in that area. I have taken it upon my self to learn some Russian but, without the requirements a school puts on you to do so, I haven't pushed myself to learn much.
I put Russian in the nordic part of languages because, it does share some similarities. Some would disagree. I was reading something about Thor once, all the names he had under nordic languages. One of them was Moelnjir, doesn't have anything to do with thunder, but it instead it was "hammer". It came from the Russian language that was around at the time.

Russian is not a nordic language, Russian is a slavic (ethnically) and eastern European (regionally) language with enormous influence from Greek, Latin, French and German.

im Danish (wow big suprise there) and Mølnjir you speak of was not a name for Thor but the name if his hammer and the name Thor comes from the Danish language, the Danish word for Thunder is Torden (Tor is pronounced a bit like Thor) and since Thor made thunder they named him Thor
