The only flag I support as Russian is the flag of the USSR. Or that of the RSFSR(Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic):

red is just the new russian national coulor .red white and blue are common Slavic colors.

I read some countries copies the Russian falg because it was a country of strength. ( I read that in a canadain atlas) I know that many countries with those coulours were made before Russia, but I'm just saying that's what I read.

the french flag spred with napoleon I think but I don't know any othere countries that use the blue, red and white tricolur.

yeah that's probly it and also one of the many resons for WWI russia medddeling with othere cunties wich it is very bad at they should do it like the us do it secretly and don´t tell russia dose it publicly and makes it look like a good thing, bad move.
