| No, but I don't like him
I think he tried to rebuild the Union's economy and end this idiotic gun race, but at the end he failed pitifully

| For me he's a retarded that deliberately destroyed USSR. If I had him in front of me I think I wouldn't feel remorse for beating him, even inspite of his age.
He opened USSR to western influence and markets allowing imperialists to ravage the USSR. He is responsible for the destruction of the USSR and for the subsequent tragedies as well. I hate him inmensely.

Mikhail Gorbachyov instead of solving or helping solve these problems, increased them. No wonder that when that asshole tried to run for president he got around 1% of votes and was even punched in the face by a Russian citizen. - Comrade Pollet wrote:

Do you seriously think he tried to fix that system? He was even awarded by Reagan. The Soviet system was pretty weakened and Gorbachyov delivered the fatal blow to it.

| I don't like him, but I don't think he is bad enough for the gulag.
It would be like arresting a janitor that worked at EnRon.
He was just a foolish man...like some one who becomes a janitor and works at a place like EnRon.

That is like arresting the guy that drives the getaway van and letting the bank robbers get away.

In which way do his actions that catalysed USSR's collapse qualify as trying to save the USSR? - mattabesta wrote:

income on armed forces. It was actually 40% of all the budget, and no, that was not the main problem, the main problem is that USSR had actually a budget when ut should have employed a communist economic system. - mattabesta wrote:

If your capitalist economy is not going well and you invite more succesful capitalist economies to participate in your nation they'll eventually f**k up the remainder of your capitalist economy.
