Marshal Georgy Konstantinovich Zhukov

Soviet Marshal that won the Battle of Berlin defended Moscow, Stalingrad and Leningrad and served in some other battles ,he also fraught in WWI (as a conscript) and in the Russian Civil war (for the Bolsheviks). Stalin would have killed him for being a threat to his power, but he respected Zhukov to much to kill him, so he was given a useless position were he had next to know power and popularity. He came from a poor family and rose trough the ranks, he was known to be a family man. Many life's were lost due to his tactics, but he got the job done and won the war, without him it is likely that Moscow would have fallen. Zhukov supported arresting and executing Lavrenty Beria. he is known as one of the most decorated military leaders of all time.

I said mixed feelings, he's not totally good or bad and in my mind that is what a hero truly is.

Just because the Nazi's crimes were worse, does not mean his should go unpunished...
I feel that way, and I believe that is what critics of him are trying to say as well.

probably but wun't have done it as well and the war might have dragged on longer.
