WE HAVE TO READ THE BIBLE IN ENGLISH CLASS!

and above all, over 25% of the world consider it holy.

how many other books have accomplished any of these goals?

also please just tell the teacher that you should read something else, if he forces the book on you complain. Even for Christians such as myself, english calss is not a place to read the bible, it just dose not fit in

Reading it as literature? Hm. WEll, I'd have to agree. And remember, I'm a militant athiest. But I can still respect the bible as a interesting piece of ancient literature, as well as a look into the mind of the ancient Palistinian.

As a piece of literature, there are remarkable poems and pieces of insight. I can see you reading it in English, honestly. Same as if they gave you a (Translated) Qu'ran for the same reasons. Don't get me wrong; what they say is wrong for the most part, however they are remarkable pieces of literature.
