Free education in Austria again!

I am beginning to suspect that the right wing of SPUSA is attempting to infiltrate this forum.

After 8 years of paid university education, it becomes free of charge in Austria again.

This reform had been passed by the following parties
SPÖ - Social democratic party (moderate left wing)
Grüne - Green party (moderate left wing)
FPÖ - Freedom party (right wing)

The following parties were agains the reform:
ÖVP - People's party (moderate right wing)
BZÖ - Austria's Future (right wing)


Now, only citizens of non EU countries have to pay the fee, which has been halved for them. EU citizens have only to pay the fee, if they study more than a year longer than the preset study length.

This semester is the last semester I paid my fee of 370 Euros per semester!

Our Student Union was fighting hard to achieve this goal!

Finally it has been achieved!



PS: There were elections in October and all the parties, except BZÖ, were propagating that they support a SOCIAL WELFARE STATE, even the right wing FPÖ promoted the idea.

One of the FPÖ slogans was: SOCIAL INSTEAD OF SOCIALIST
Funny, isn't it? The more social it gets, the more socialist it is!

rely we've had that for 9 decades even though a right wing party has been in charge the whole time.

Socialism stands for the redistribution of wealth. There is no capitalist or socialist wealth. There is simply wealth. Our economics university is actually the best university in the country and their students are mostly like minded. We have awesome professors too.

Most of us diss American capitalism and pseudo-economists like Adam Smith all the time!

One of our professors has recently said: So, we know that there are theories and facts. Facts like for example that market capitalism creates wealth for everyone... (sarcastic smile)... Oh, what did I say... We have a financial crisis dont we...well forget the capitalism then. That's a very bad example!

When you speak about money you're speaking about capitalism. If there is a capital no matter how you distribute the revenues it is capitalism.
