Do you mean Bernie Sanders? He's been there for a while now. Unless there's another one, which would be so awesome.

| No, his opponents just say hes not to put him down, its kind of the same as people calling Obama a communist. But I am only listening to what the guy said, I've tried looking in to it, but can't find his policies. | |

Eh I can definitely argee to that. The (latest) Times magazine I just got was definitely good, all fine and all... UNTIL THE GODSDAMMED LAST ESSAY ARTICLE. >: I was seriously pissed off at it. It was like the slanderous "Red Scare" all over again. In fact, I couldn't even finish reading it. Rather, I did what anybody with a sensible mind who is damm tired of all the fearmongering who do... Trash it.

| Sanders is a self-described democratic socialist, but because he does not belong to a formal political party he appears as an independent on the ballot. Sanders caucuses with the Democratic Party and is counted as a Democrat for the purposes of committee assignments. He was the only independent member of the House during much of his service there and is one of two independent Senators in the 110th Congress, along with Joe Lieberman. Sanders is the first self-described democratic socialist to be elected to the U.S. Senate.[1] Sanders left the House in order to run in the 2006 election for the Senate seat being vacated by the retiring Jim Jeffords and won the election with 65% of the vote.[2]
