| Ah, crap. You Europeans and your weird, different and not-North American terminology. So APPARENTLY being a "Liberal" over in the old world means "Conservative" and "Tory" over here. Huh. Probably good of me to learn different perspectives, but after seventeen years of seeing "Liberal" and "(Blank)-Democratic" and thinking left-of-centre (and social democrat, which apparently is the European term for moderate leftists, i.e. "Liberals"...I think), equating the term "Liberal" with leftist-pinko-hippyism has become a knee-jerk response I don't really wanna break. I gots lots of learnin' to do if I wanna survive on this forum.  | |

Over here, when we hear Liberal, it sounds very "right-wing"-ish
Most parties are social-democratic, to the left there are socialists and then communists. Green are considered slightly left (moderate-left), similiar to social-democratic.
To the right, we have moderate-right social-democratic parties, but they would be considered left-wing in comparison to US democrats.
And even further right are nationalists, but we dont like them, because they dont like us! | |
