| Some people tend to say: "This is gross/morally wrong etc. so it cant be art because art have to be nice" For me every piece of craft/painting/scultpture/musik just a product of human culture is considered as art AS LONG AS no real humans are being hurt. So it can be really gross or sick stuff. In my opinion art has to be free from moral bounds. The only restriction is a humans health/life. In my opinion even this is some kind of art: (warning: really sick sick sick japanese guro minor rape scene-its not real but a painting but you might be shocked aswell-I warned you) IT IS REALLY REALLY SICK so dont look if you think you cant cope with it the name says it all http://www.encyclopediadramatica.com/Baby_fucki have a real twisted mind

| actually I didnt intend to spam this board with /b/ shit... I have much badder stuff if I intended this was a serious question about your view which stuff can be considered as art and which not and why you think so... guess my subject line wasnt clear enough... So again my question: "Should the definition of "ART" depend on moral views or values? | |

| Read my question because Im meaning this serious. Make a comment about your opinion towards the relationship between moral and arts or just let it be... btw I warned you by writing what would await you and I think that Im not violating this forum's rules because its only a link and not implemented in the site itself. | |

pornography/child abuse/woman abuse/rape/hentai will never be art in my book. Anything that glorifies and lets sick fucks get off on that stuff is trash. |

| yea but whats about the drawing skills? some have some pretty good skills and can also work great with colors and shadow/light effects? There are some artistic skills. I guess this stuff does not glorify anything since its not saying something like "come on you have to repeat that!" or showing the violater in a glorious way like the nazi propaganda did. Under your definition every M-rated movie would be bad and some are pretty good though. Whats about "The Godfather" ? Ther are also some pretty brutal scenes and the protagonist does not try to solve his problems in a diplomatic way. Yet it is a big hunk of film art. | |

| ...some explanations why you do not consider that as art would be nice though... and not something simple like "its disgusting"... because it is but so is sometimes art | |

| An other example. Art has the task to provoke. To cause feelings. Whether this feelings are admiration or disgust. Just watch at the Beneton ad campaings during the 80s where they took some shocking pictures. This stuff is a controversary but is considered as art | |
