I have a lot of clothes that I wouldn't want to abandon, too. Same goes with my books. And my laptop...

| I think private propery means private enterprises. What you mean is called personal property. | |

| But I thought private property was defined as anything that could be bought or sold. | |

No thats not what it means. You will still own personal property which is everything you mentioned. So no need to worry |

| Private property is anything one can own to make a profit off of others' labor. It's the means of production that are monopolized by the capitalists. That cannot be individually, but collectively, owned in a communist society.
Personal property is that which is yours for personal use. Anything like what you mentioned in the first post will not be touched by the revolution. In fact, there would be no practical reason to do so, since no one else could make any use of it.
This is one of those concepts that mattabesta has trouble with.

haha, ya. Good thing he wasn't here then, eh? It's easy to get confused with this concept because whoever came up with the terminology made it as similar as possible. You'd think they woulda called private property something more sinister than that, in order to avoid confusion.

And then ten days later, you are gunned down because you ripped off a person a thousand dollars when the thing you sold should've been ten. Yeah...sure. Ripping off and STEALING money from others when life is already hard as it is. That is very kind of you. I never really imagined it. Thanks.
