Georgia is getting ready for war!
The tension between Russia and Georgia is increasing, especially due to separatist Abkhasia, which doesnt accept Georgian rule and is preotected by Russian peacekeeping units.

Recently Russian planes flew over Georgian airspace. Russian airforce generals announced this has been done to cool down Georgian heads. The Georgian military replied that next time they will shoot down Russian jets.

The Russians had better keep their mind on their own business, else they'll be waging war.

I personally dont believe in borders! It doesn't matter at all. The only thing that matters is if people are given the living standard they deserve!

Russia is trying to reassert its dominance in the region, if Georgia was able to retake Abkhasia it would have done so by now and with Russian military support it will be impossible so I doubt there is anything that that can be done about it.

Putin has a lot of influence on the new guy, I assume.

Yea, I have to take Georgia's side, just because I'm strongly anti-imperalist.

this. Russia isn't gonna stand by and not be a power in the world for long. Ever since Tzar Peter Russia has had its hand in world policy and since the collapse of the Empire that was the USSR they have been put in a bad position by the rest of the world. What do you expect them to do when some third world nation like Georgia or one that english speakers cannot pronounce start forgeting their place?

I don't think Georgia gnna prepare for a war if there smart enough to see they can NEVER win it.

and Russia's side is that they must defend themselves from the rest of the world being shown that a nation "lower on the food chain" can insult Russia and get away with it.

I'm on Russia's side. Georgia was given good enough autonomy and overall and cultural protection as a Soviet republic, all soviet republics were better off as part of USSR. In my view, Georgia is a supporter of Western imperialism and its independence from the USSR is greatly a product of it. To summarize: Georgia is a G-7's pawn and I wouldn't feel pity if any Georgian supporting that condition gets squashed..

My personal posture.

Now, the objective analysis: If Georgia and Russia go to war, it would simply take artillery bombardment to put Georgia on its knees. If Georgia's government is prudent, they'll let Abkhazia go.

yes, sorry i should have made that clearer, and not spammed it.

I don't think its imperial aggression because one of the primary reasons for this conflict between Georgia and Russia is Georgia trying to join NATO. If the Georgian government is willing to sell itself out to one empire it has little sovereignty left to defend from Russia when it takes Abkhazia and South Ossetia.

It IS Imperialism but I also do not think that it is bad imperialism. There comes a time when you just have to stand up for what your nation stand for and now is russia's time to prove that just because they are no longer a super power they are still a power.

It's not imperialism for they're not conquering Georgia. I'd actually call Russia's intervention there counter-imperialism since Georgia is sponsored by the G-7.

It will be because I am sure it won't take much.. convincing.. for Russia to simply raise their flag over Georgia and claim that they were totally "asking for it"..which they are... why would you talk crap to a nation that could defeat you in less then a day!

Russia won't raise its flag over Georgia, they won't go further than assisting Abkhasia on gaining more autonomy and if I was in charge of Russia's troops I'd try to destroy Georgia's whole military infrastructure, but doesn't seem that likely in my view.

Else Georgia and Russia were part of the same nation for more than a century, Georgia was part of USSR whitin which its culture got greatly preserved (in 70 years it could have been vanished under such a strong government such as USSR's, instead it was preserved) and within which Georgia, disagrees who disagrees, experienced development and had certain autonomy. If Georgia split up it was because it was sponsored by USSR's enemies, by G-7's imperialism, a greater threat to Georgia's autonomy and culture. Georgia greatly sponsors and shelters Chechen separatists (another set of G-7's pawns) implying a direct threat to Russia's security and stability.

So over these premises, any action against Georgian state from part of Russia is an act of counter-imperialism.
