Depends, actual Stalinists and Maoists but there are also those who call themselves Stalinists and Maoists because they refuse to believe historical facts but are actually much more sane despite the fact they are historical revisionists.

I think Maoists and Stalinists define themselves as so for agreeing with Mao's and Stalin's understanding of communism and its buildup and not necessarily by it's practice acknowledging thus Stalin's and Mao's mistakes. That's how they've made me understand it.

their not really dictatorship, just authoritarian, like any government.
they are usually like Cuba, it has elections, but only one person can possibly win, and like in the US where only two people can possibly win.
