All the parts are located on youtube in Spanish.

I tell you, after I watched this movie two days ago, it became one of my favorite movies.

It shows the civil war in El Salvador, which started in 1980 and went on for 12 years. The government forces were fighting freedom fighters. This was a clash of ideologies, since the government ruled the country in wild capitalism where the impoverished peasants and workers were just a little bit better of than slaves. The guerilla was mostly marxist and fought the soldiers in the country. Interestingly the movie correctly portrays that the christian priests were supporting the movement, because the government was too oppressive and the army was engaging in looting, rape, execution of prisonners and kidnapping of children to employ them as child soldiers. The army conscripted all boys when they reached age of 12 to prevent them later to join guerillas.

What I like is that this movie shows the civil war from the eyes of a 12 year old boy, who has to take a decision, if he will join the freedom fighters or hope not to be kidnapped by the army.

I recommend all people to watch this film!
It shows us, how poor we would live, if our ancestors didn't fight for socialism and democracy.
