Our educational system USED to be quite excellent but now... It SUCKS beyond 3rd World levels! It leaves MANY young bright minds literally illiterate and feeds off propaganda that is effectively controled by the government. Hell, US even starting to lag behind India! INDIA for FUCK'S SAKE!!! In fact, most of the knowledge I have right now is from the Interwebz. Pretty sad, amiright?

| It ends to be in November lol. Also our school system is not the best...but third world? come on. I have taken Honors, Advanced Placement, and Dual Enrollment classes and they were very informative. The regular class's are fairly sad but if you do good and get into higher learning class's it's pretty nice. |

| India's school's actually aren't that bad.
And yes, the US is a threat to global security though not simply because of poor public education.

| Special schools. Hmm, wow. I suppose that speaks for something since, oh iuno...EVERY county has those types of schools?!
Mononokifool: Yeah, I know the public education system has those selections but what I meant was by an overall scale. The US is the RICHEST and most advanced country in the entire world and yet, the education levels suck. That alone says something.
Even Europe has a better education system than ours. It offers both unbiased views on socialism and capitalism and actually lets the students make a choice, unlike here, which many people are still uninformed about many stuff.

| Gotten worse? Excuse me but ask your parents what they studied in High School and most likely they will respond with something you did in middle school. We are now learning what was Collage stuff to them. Funding is better and the Drop out rate((Which used to be over 50% iirc)) has declined. How exactly are we worse off now then our pot smoking parents..who now run the country..mabye that is why we are in a bad spot now >> | |

| Hmm. You have a valid point, Dio. But the education system is still biased in many ways.
At least, against other countries. Shit, I don't know. It's just my preception of things. O_O

| It's not just the funding which is in fact inadequate, its that the schools have gone in the wrong direction and are not actually educating the vast majoirty of students. | |

Oh wate... so the reason you see American Education as a low thing is just because they dont teach us about Socialism and the Communist Manifesto is a banned book? That does not make us stupid. Ignorant mabye.. but the left WAS our enemy for half a century. Like the romans not teaching about Gailic Culture and them thinking they were barbarbarians((In the negitive sence.))

| I meant that the American public education system is not designed to maximize the quality of education regardless of funding. So even if the schools did have enough money they wouldn't be able to use it properly, like Medicare; the system is deliberately inefficient because if it wasn't a waste of money then it would be socialism. | |

| The reason our system has become so bad is because our schools have started to teach to a test. Instead of actually teaching, they just teach so you pass a test. We start to have English lessons in History class. |
