Like the title says. What is communism to you? And specfically to you? Just would it relate to the family? Is it truely a system were everybody works AS a family? Or it is more like the West claims to be? Is it possible? Or impossible?

IMO, I think communism IS NOT what Marx said about "violent revolution" or "destroy private property". Instead, I think it is more of a system where each and every human being can mutually care for one another without force and without violence. Whether or not it will come about peacefully, we shall have to see.

Discuss.

How so? With no family, you cannot survive. With no country, you have no identity.

But if you say so, then I think it is the conditions of the persent capitalist neo-liberal economy that make families (at least, in the US) very reactionary.

Almost 75 precent of families in the US are "dsyfunctional". That means my family is one of the minoirity. Sad

@inkus: That maybe true. Marx predictions on India and China are coming true. We shall have to see. Wink

Communism is not a stage in "human evolution." It is the final stage in the change of modes of production.
Without family you can survive. The workers have no country.

what jeiro is describing is socialist revolution which is a transition state into socialism, not communism.

Communism is a stateless society where abundance has been reached and all forms of oppression and reactionary institutes, including the family which is the root of women's oppression. Economic benefit has been removed from all from all types of relationships and all forms of bourgeois right has disappeared.

Socialism is the transition to that ^^^^

[edit] the country divides the world proletariat and pits countries against each other

I would also add that the family oppresses the children also, and that nations make the proletariat weaker by dividing them and turning them against each other, which is why Marxists advocate proletarian internationalism, which is the opposite of bourgeois nationalism.

Destruction of family is sensless and harmful for the society. Destruction of family, culture, religion, etc. will turn humans into sensless animals. The same thing is done in the US, where people have no culture, no religion, etc.

They aren't. And I don't call myself a marxist, because I understand that marxism had a lot of errors and needs to be revised.

so religion doesn't content people with exploitation
countries aren't inclined to imperialist war and competition
and the family doesn't subordinate women and oppress youth?
