| Do you think our scholar systems are good?
Do you think grades at school can be used as a parameter for intelligence or any worthy trait within the individual?

| They're awful, compared to those in the USSR. It seems that it's profitable for the goverments of the western countries, especially the US, that their people would be little educated. | |

Indeed it is. All they need is obedient workers that will not question their authority or the status quo.

| you get bias in any country's history class. As for intelligence as a whle, yes USA is not as much as it used to be but really, but we are still high up on the charts. The problem is, many people don't WANT to learn. We still have tons of smart people, just the percentage is lower. Thing is we don't have competition. The japanese need to pass entrance exams for each grade and that is motivation. In the 80's we had to beat the USSR so we had people motivated. We just need to get people to want to learn again. | |

| The quality of education in the US has been steadily declining for the last 50 years. The problem isn't that people don't want to learn, its that schools don't want people to learn. | |

| I personally as well don't consider that grades or school performace are aparameter for intelligence. In fact, most of the people with highest grades are not particularily intelligent while lots of the people with mediocre or low grades are some of the most intelligent.
This educational system is designed to make things easier for those that are more easy to handle, to manipulate.
