Do you want whats best for the people of a country or whats best for communism.

I will not accept "Communism is best for the people" because to me that is out of Ignorance, like mormans going door to door converting people, because that is what is best for their souls, and Im sure you guys are thinking "but that is whats best for the people..." which is the same thing any extreme morman would say reading that part to them.

Comparing socialists to Mormons is like being a Mormon.

For starters Mr. Liche, would you mind explaining your understanding of "communism"? I'll employ the marxist definition in which "communism" is a synonim of "socialism".

I'll be laconic since I agree with my comrades here and to what Mr. Internet said at the start: Communism is a system in which the means of production, therefore the whole economy as well, are owned and controlled by the workers which use these means of production to suffice their needs, needs that are determined by the workers themselves.

I won't engage in the dicussion of what's best or not for the people because "best" is superlative of "good" a relative term and it's pointless to discuss relative terms. I can just speak in accordance to my own concept of "good".

In my view the freest society is the one in which no one has power over anyone and in which the whole economy is focused in sufficing every need of the people. A system in which the people manage the economy so that it can serve to what they want. They produce all and they know what they need, no one can manage this better than the people themselves.

Socialism automatically implies direct democracy and both economic and personal freedom. Every involved party agrees to what is to be done and those who don't agree simply are not involved parties. There's no coercion, there's no repression, there's no servilism. And that, for me and many others is good, the best possible.

I don't know what's good for you, so I cannot know whether this is good for you or not, but I can certainly say that this is what I consider good, most effective and most stable, therefore, the best. Whether it is the best for the people or not, that is to be decided by the people after experiencing it, I'm sure most will agree it is.

This site would be too dull without your snarky quips Stos. And seeing that serious face on De Leon afterwards is just plain funny.
