I at least gave a link for trillian. It's not a resource hog and a whole lot better than each individual one. I used Jabber for awhile, but Trillian works better with Yahoo and keeps up with their changes in protocols.

best is to try each one out. but that takes long, i strongly recommend pidgin, its 100 times better then msn at least, and 90 times better then Amsn (the ones ive tried)
