| Compatible these two notions? The Scientific communism denies in general existence of the God, but One deal to believe in the God i.e. essence created and controlling world. But the other deal to believe in origin society to social fairness, founding on History fact - a growing of production power and occurring hereupon change sytucture. Mix two these faiths at all It is impossible., what your opinion? Possible exist communism with religion? | |

| if you look at some of the very early communal movements, they were all religion based. not saying that i advocate them but, take a look. ghandi, mlk, dostoevsky, tolstoy utah phillip, abbie hoffman, franz kafka, allen ginsberg, and there are loads more of religious anarchists/communists. what im saying is while im an atheist, to deny anyone rights to there own beliefs, is doing exactly what the capitalists do. i fail to see the link between religion and communism not working. besides, most religious texts preach anarchism and communism, just in different terms.
btw welcome to the forum comrade. |

| I myself am a Christian, and a Communist. From my studies of Christianity, there is nothing in the Bible that would contradict Communist or Socialist Economic Theories, and even supports the two in some ways ( The Community helping the poor, ect ).
Although Pure Marxism claims to be viable on the basis of Evolution, which can contradict religion as a whole.

we dont deny anyone the right to preach it, but privatizing shit in a collectivized society, couldnt possibly go over to well. denying the right to preach capitalism, albeit stupid as shit, means we would be doing the same thing that the capitalists have done to us. |

| It's possiable. But as we know, religon brings conflict and conflict brings inequalities. I dont think it would work, but if you find a way i'd support you. Im agonistic btw. | |

This. Zach raises many important points in his first post, so I can't be buggered to contribute anything else. I will just mention that I am a virulent Antitheist, so even though I think the two ideas - Socialism and religion - can be compatible, I don't want them to come together. I love my Socialism, but I'm not a fan of religion - and not just religious institutions, but faith as well.
