It's true, I live in a town that was a military fort during the civil war. We have confederate graveyards everywhere. There is still A LOT of tension between the North and the South. I know you guys in other countries don't really get to hear about that stuff but many people still wish the south should have won.

You would be supprised by the number of people who deny, or don't know that Virginia (the capital of CSA) is South of the Mason Dixon.

When you live in USA, you really notice the North/South tensions... and staying in Virginia... well I think that state is symbolic on the civil war.

Actually, that's the flag ensign of the Tennessee Navy. The so-called "Confed" flag was used to, not to show rivalry bewteen North and South, but to have all veterans of the Civil War to unite.

But yeah, the whole "North vs South" issue in the US brings LOTS of lulz to me. It's stupid really and just goes to show the overpowerment of "American exceptionalism" even moar.

Exactly. It all started with States Rights. They wanted the federal gov. to only protect the nation and let the states completely govern themselves. Also terrifs that were good for the industrialized north while the farmers of the south suffered. Lincoln brought Liberation into the picture when they were trying to get more soldiers out of the fleeing slaves of the south

after 100 years of that crap the south got preaty tired of the norths bullcrap. wars have been started for less.

I think an orange color would be better. Red and yellow... too pinko for my taste.
