We use all branches of our military at the same time when we attack. Missile sites are vaporised by our missiles and bombers. Our navy takes total superiority and the air would be by default be ours because we have more fighters and better fighters then they do. Next Armor and Infantry overwhelms the enemy with better range and numbers. All in all Iran would be ownt.

If USA attacks Iran why would Iran attack Isreal to? Sure they hate each other but if they have war with USA i don't think they can efort another war.

Iran has right to defend itself in case USA attacks, but Israel should be left alone (unless it in some way assists USA), anyway, I think Iran's capabilities are definitely lesser than they want to make everyonelse think.

Iran has mobile Russian missile systems, they could easily destroy several US and Israeli positions before a shock and awe blitzkrieg.

It would probably be more like
1. US claims Gulf of Tankin/USS Maine type aggression and attacks Iran
2. Iran retaliates with long range missile attacks and incursions into Iraq
3. Militias that in northern Iraq that the US bribes to keep docile and relies on for security turn on US and the Iraqi government.
4. Powerful Shia militias which UK forces have failed to defeat in the past aid Iran.
5. Surrounding regions become destabilized fueling further armed conflicts.
6. US spread too thinly across Somalia, Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, etc. to carry on a successful military engagement in any one theater.
7. Law of Unintended Consequences leads to catastrophic results for all involved.

If we were to attack Iran the reason (Imho) Iraq was invaded would be quite clear... It would still be a 2 front war. LOOK AT A MAP REAL QUICK. what 2 nations border Iran. THAT RIGHT! Afghanistan AND Iraq. You think WE cant fight a 2 front war? Well then how do you think a nation that isn't a super power would stand up?


And if Iran is attacked I am sure it would not take much for other muslim nations to join the fray which would be a worst case scenario for the US EXCEPT that said muslim nations would let religion get in the way and instead of focusing on keeping coalition forces inside of Iraq..would attack Israel since most would have a "lol jew r bad kill dem!" mentality.

I am not saying that the war would go exactly as... everyone who realises that the U.S simply has more firepower plans, but the one weakness that the.. lets call it the UMS(United Muslim States..just made that up..i r clever) would have is that they would put religion and pride based attacks ahead of actual strategy. It wouldn't stop at Iran, the destabilizing effects of another invasion would lead to more conlifts and it would be/ already is another Vietnam.

Also it is nothing like Vietnam at the moment because even though the war is not supported in the U.S. The American people still have pride in our soldiers. During vietnam american citizens called our own soldiers terrible names and the experience of the returning vet was so terrible a large portion of them are still f'ed up.

As for the two fronts, well, Iran would be a third front and for your tactical disadvantage all three countries share borders. Else Iran is tactically superior to Iraq in all possible senses and, unlike Iraq, counts with a proffesional guerrilla warfare unit (precisely what has been hindering any possible US success in Iraq) with a manpower that equals half of the total Iraqi population.

US hasn't really conquered Iraq yet in 5 years, Afghanistan is still unstable and Iran represents a much more formidable foe than Iraq. The chances of succeeding against Iran? At least an invation is doomed. And a strike on Iran would make things quite harder in Iraq and Afghanistan for sure.
