Interesting Lincoln quote

Here a quote taken from Abraham Lincoln's address to US congress in 1861

"Labor is prior to, and independent of, capital. Capital is only the fruit of labor, and could never have existed if labor had not first existed. Labor is the superior of capital, and deserves much the higher consideration."

Does this surprise anyone? Or furthermore change their view of Lincoln?

I've often heard that Lincoln was a socialist but I've never been able to find any quotes to suggest it; I guess I just wasn't looking hard enough as this proves it beyond a shadow of doubt.

No I hate him mostly for putting reconstruction((The period of military governance after the Civil War)) into place. The south after the civil war is why it is like it is today.

Reconstruction failed because it was a bourgeois revolution. If it was led by the proletariat or totalitarian then it would have succeeded.

Bit obscure if you ask me - fascism is something based on race distinguishing, and thats a Right side. Unless were talking about "ideology fascism" then, thats at least possible

Republican claims that they follow Lincoln's ideology are all lies. Regan's ideology and Lincoln's are a world away.
