Police repress Anti-Fascist protest in Spain

In Madrid, a meeting of right-wing extremist group was protested by over 1000 anti-fascists. The police responded by firing rubber bullets and tear gas at the anti-fascist protesters.

Your thoughts?

I thought Spain was supposed to have a left-wing government; wtf?

Perhaps there are some old Franco supporters in the police...

an angry mob has to be contained but tear gas and rubber bullets are a littel to much

OK, spanish government is left-wing, but the Socialist Party (PSOE) is not much better than the right-wing party: The repression of the antifascist was ordered by the government.

Even, in Barcelona, a few weeks ago, the regional government (where the political chief of the police is a communist) ordered the police to charge against a students' protest against the reform of the university.

So, there are some fascist policemen, but is the government who says the police to repress.

Maybe the Antifa was getting aggressive! I mean, they are known to lynch fascists whenever they see them, so maybe the police had to intervene to stop the Antifa from killing "innocent" fascists...

That wuold make the event "understandable". If it was in my hands to decide what to do with facist protesters I think I would let them spew all their idiocy, and, at the slightest trace of agressiveness, sabotage or damage I would arrest them, make a throrough investigation to find out who among the arrested ones is fascist by conviction and which by ignorance. Those facists by conviction would be put to forced labour or sent to a gulag.

First of all Matthi, I don't know why do you have to reply in such an aggressive way always... I mean... aren't you suposed to represent a moderate political position? Then, with all those aggressive replies... are you sure you're qualified to send anyone to menatl examination?
