| https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=igyvAVq-r7A&feature=channelRussian communists have met to commemorate the date, when heroic citizens were defending Supreme Soviet from president Yeltsin, who sent an army against politicians protecting the constitution. Yeltsin had a tank shoot at the Russian white house, stormed the government with soldiers. Many have been killed, others arrested. He unconstitutionally dissolved the supreme soviet and changed the constitution to give himself more power and become authoritarian leader after which he sold people's enterprises to opportunists creating 17 billionaires and pulling 70.000.000 people into poverty! At the end of Yeltsins presidency, his support was only 2% and in the next election Communist Party of Russian Federation would win the election. He privatised almost everything, which he did for bribes which he used in the election campaign and TV promoting him as the only option for the presidency. He won again and took away dignity from millions of people. Millions have ended on the streets, old people were forced to grow their own food in their dachas and countryside, because pensions were so low they couldnt cover the cost for food. Many children were forced into streets. The last time people lived so precarious was straight after WWII! Childbirth dropped. Live expectancy fell, suicide rates multipled, crime and murder rocketered and the safe life in Soviet Union was gone. Russia was controlled by gangs and criminals. Streets became murderous at night. Crime led to over 500.000 young women being trafficked to other countries and sold as sex slaves! Yeltsin is the worst leader in the history of Russia! For me, he is as bad as Stalin. Yeltsin destroyed the lives of almost everyone who lived in Russia at that time! Even now, over 15 years after Yeltsin took complete power, life in Russia is much worse for many than during Soviet times. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=igyvAVq-r7A&feature=channel | |

| Nothing surprising.
How did Yeltsin win with 2%? That's how elections work, you rig them and get the ruling countries to approve of them.
Yeltsin was awesome for the G7 so they'd gladly validate any election in which he won.
Russia is indeed fucked as hell thanks to this and Russians are now deluded by Pootiepootputin'... but USSR would have never collapsed if it had been socialist in the first place.

So the Bush of Russia? I don't think USA has got someone comparable to Gorbachyov. If any US president can be blamed on making US split into at least 17 different countries with conflicts between each other, then that guy will be comparable to Gorbachyov.

People are not exploited by capitalism, capitalism is the condition in which people are explioited and it existed both in USSR, in the Russian Empire and in nowadays Russia. Just things were far more even during USSR and there was much more social stability, else, as a nation, USSR was far more powerful than what Russia can hope to be.

And where does it says the Communist Fedaration party won? I dotn think that ever happend in the Russian Elections. He gave state owned companies to his buddies and they fueled his campaign with billions of Rubles and there was heavy propaganda supporting him on all TV channels.
And the stupid idiots voted for him, because most people believe what the TV says. And after he won the completed the destruction of Russian economy and living standards. Somehow the people who voted for him deserve the life they have, however the people who voted for the communist party candidate don't deserve that life.
PS: Yeltsin had falling support and around 1 year before election support for him was only 2%, because he was a complete failure at anything he has done (except robbing people). The media however showed him in an extremely positive light and that's why he won.

After all they were just deluded workers, like the workers that think the system's doing fine cause they got a nice salary or at least awesome welfare. - Kenzu wrote:

That's how capitalism works, or actually how exploitative systems work: based on lies and imagery, not on truth, arguements and knowledge.

| Yeah and they mostly do stupid decisions, like the KHL (Kontinantal Hockey League) they have back there, they pay big money for european players to come back to the old continent (Jaromir Jagr has a salary of 10 Millions per year exempt of Taxes or any kind of redistribution, with financed car and house). They wouldn't get that money from the crowd that was coming to the game or the Concessions they we're selling, only from they're companies, and now the oil price is falling down, and the russian economy is crashing. So they are kinda screwed, since they have to pay all that money+all the losses theyre companies have. | |
