| That's completely right. The Roman Catholic Church just as most churches are economical empires, centres of power that should be abolished by force! | |

One thing is faith: When you say you believe that Jesus Christ was indeed the messiah, envoy of God. One thing is culture: When you follow the Christmas tradition of sitting with your family and having some dinner, put your tree, give gifts to each other and maybe sing some carols. But other is the church: An entity that exploits people's faith to get incomes and thus economic and politic power doing nothing but enagenating people to a "church cult".

| I shouldnt need to ask this but how many of youknow anything about the catholic ´church? First: The catholic church is the biggest social entity in the world, no organisation, not even Microsoft, has more employees or gives more money to help people in need. Whats left of the money is used for the restauration of churches and other catholic sites which are considered by Unesco as Heritage of Humanity. Vatican has been losing money for a very long time now, by holding nothing back. Second: The Pope is the spiritual leader of a billion people in the world, who is elected by his peers to office. Just regard him as a president with a slightly longer period of power. | |

| Yes, maybe you are right.
Then I would stop giving the church government support. If believers pay them, let them pay.
The church must pay property tax like everyone else though! (Churches could be exlcluded though)

Poor people couldn't afford that and you talking about middleages. Then what do you think was one of the prime issues with the Lutheran reform? Precisely the indulgencies. Poor people could waste great part of their miserable incomes on those ridiculous indulgencies.

Just regard him as a president with a slightly longer period of power. I should know some things since I studied in a religious catholic school part of my childhood. I wonder how is possible that being such a great contributor to people in need there's absolutely no result from that humanitarian aid. And see how well the Vatican aids people in Africa: by promoting the lack of use of condom. I live in Mexico one of the largest and most fervient catholic countries in the world, one of the main economic contributors after USA, Germany, France and Spain to the Vatican. And I have seen no aid from the Vatican to the poor in Mexico and not only that, many priests live in luxury let aside the fact that they have excomulgated some priests for supporting peasant movements or demands. They buy their expensive BMWs, they pay for all the security for the pope and cardinals, they pay for all the suits against pederast priests (inversions of millions of dollars), they keep people enagenated to an ambiguous "ideology", they excert political pressure. Catholic Church, just as any church is an organization who abuses of the faith of many for the priviledge of others.

| First: If all people in the world would behave like strict catholics there woul be no Aids in the world. So the popes stance on Condoms only concerns catholics.
Second: if you didnt see anything in Mexico you werent looking closely enough. Believe me we're everywhere and we're helping as much as we can. My Childhood priest for example is currently in Ecuador building a school, hospital and new church from funds from austria.
Third: The church is just good at economics, if you buy a new BMW it will last 20 years until you need replacement. Buy an old car it will brake down soon.
Forth there are 10 Million priests in the world. that some are misbehaving has to be expected

| But a lot of the churches fortunes comes from taking it from people they incinerated hundreds of years ago. They should give it to the state! | |
